Solution
You are experiencing this issue because the pinouts for the old and new versions of the AO series devices are different where AO0 in NI 6723 is located at pin 22, but it is at pin 10 in PCIe-6738 as shown in the pinouts below.
According to the
BNC-2110 Getting Started Guide, the terminal block should be able to be used with NI 6711/673x AO series DAQ devices by connecting them using SH68-68-EP or R6868 cable. However, this is only applicable to the older NI 673x AO series which are NI 6731 and NI 6733.
For new 67xx Models, it is recommended that you refer to the
Cable and Accessory Compatibility Tables of
67xx Models : DAQ Analog Output Cable and Accessory Compatibility. According to the table, it is recommended to use the SHC68-68-A2 cable and SCB-68A/SCB-68 terminal block with the PCIe-6738. You can also use TBX-68, CB-68LP, or CB-68LPR screw terminal block.
If you want to integrate the PCIe-6738 into a NI 6723 cabling where you can control the terminal block's AO0 through PCIe-6738's pin 22, you will need to use it with the NI 6738 adapter. For further information, you can refer to Appendix B, NI 6738/6739 in an NI 6723 System (PXI Express Only) of
NI PCIe/PXIe-6738/PXIe-6739 Feature Guide. Please take note that the NI 6738 is not compatible with the BNC-2110 because NI 6738 does not support it as stated in the
Known Limitations and Issues List of the compatibility page above.
