Solution
The pinouts for the old and new versions of the AO series devices are different. The AO0 in NI 6723/6722 is located at pin 22, but it is at pin 10 in PCIe-6738 as shown in the pinouts below and in the NI 6711/6713/6722/6723/6731/6733 Feature Guide.

For new systems with 67xx Models, it is recommended that you refer to the
Cable and Accessory Compatibility Tables of
67xx Models : DAQ Analog Output Cable and Accessory Compatibility. According to the table, it is recommended to use the SHC68-68-A2 cable and SCB-68A/SCB-68 terminal block with the PCIe-6738. You can also use the TBX-68, CB-68LP, or CB-68LPR screw terminal block.
For integrating a PCIe/PXIe-6738 into an existing system that is wired and configured for the NI 6723, NI offers adapter accessories you can use along with the SH68-C68-S cable for minimal rewiring and reconfiguration. This allows you to control the terminal block's AO0 through PCIe/PXIe-6738's pin 22. For this configuration, you will need to use the
SH68-C68-S cable with the NI 6738 adapter. For further information, please refer to Appendix B of the
NI PCIe/PXIe-6738/PXIe-6739 Feature Guide. Please note that the NI 6738 is not compatible with the BNC-2110 because NI 6738 does not support it as stated in the
Known Limitations and Issues List of the compatibility page above.
For older NI 6711/673x AO devices, the
BNC-2110 terminal block can be used with the SH68-68-EP or R6868 cable. However, this is only applicable to the NI 6731 and NI 6733 and not the NI 6738.
