NI VLM Indicates Different Expiration Dates

Issue Details

Revising my license file status in NI Volume License Manager (NI-VLM) I noted there are two expiration dates displaying in the 'Current Status' field.

Which one is relevant?

Solution

This is a general misunderstanding that customers face upon revision of the license status in NI-VLM.
  • The Service Expiration Date is the date when your NI Software License Agreement will expire.
  • The License File Expiration Date includes a 60-days grace period which will allow you to keep using your NI Software while renewing your NI Software License Agreement. 
Note: Upon renewing your NI Software License Agreement, your new contract's Start Date will start from the Service Expiration Date and not from the License File Expiration Date. The License File Expiration Date remains a grace period that allows you to use your NI Software licenses while renewing your contract.
