Issues With Server Applications on Windows Server 2019 After Updating to SystemLink Server 2023

Issue Details

I updated my NI SystemLink Server installation to version 2023 Q3. After the update, multiple Windows Server programs are crashing or not working properly, for example the Server-Manager application.

Solution

The issue is not directly caused by the installation of the new SystemLink Server version, but by the circumstance, that it comes with a new version of NI Packager Manager. NI Package Manager versions since 2023 Q2 install the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.

In special scenarios, the installation of Microsoft .NET Frameware 4.8 can lead to missing registry entries. Help for the issue can be found in the Microsoft Tech Community .
