Persistency of PXI Trigger Routing or Reservation Using NI-VISA

Issue Details

Instead of using NI-MAX, I am routing or reserving PXI trigger programmatically using NI-VISA. How persistent is the PXI trigger that has been routed or reserved using NI-VISA? Will it persist even after the system is reboot?

Solution

PXI trigger routing and reservation via NI-VISA will only persist up until it has been unrouted, unreserved, or the system is rebooted. Only PXI trigger that has been routed and reserved via NI MAX will persist even after system is rebooted.

Additional Information

Once NI-VISA is used to route or reserve the PXI trigger, closing the NI-VISA session will not unrouted or unreserved the PXI trigger.
