Issue Details

I have a 4-wire RTD and would like to use it with USB-6366 for temperature measurement. However, when I check the Connection Diagram in NI-MAX, I only see 2-wire connection and not 4-wire connection.
Is it possible to do 4-wire RTD connection with USB-6366?

Solution

4-wire RTD connection is not supported in USB-6366 since it is not designed for RTD measurement specifically and it does not have excitation channel. RTD measurement specific module such as NI-9217 would be suitable since it enables 4-wire RTD connection and it has excitation channels .

Additional Information

An RTD is a passive measurement device. Therefore, excitation current must be supplied first before reading the voltage across its terminals.
