The Serial Number of an RMX Device Appears as All Zeroes

Issue Details

The serial number of my RMX device appears as all zeroes in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). Also, when I query the device using the *IDN?\n command through VISA Test Panel or use a LabVIEW program to query its serial number, it returns the serial number as all zeroes. Meanwhile, I can see the serial numbers of my other RMX devices correctly.

Solution

The information about the device, like the serial number is stored in its EEPROM. If you are seeing your device's serial number incorrectly it can be a result of an incorrectly stored serial number in its EEPROM. Kindly, contact NI Support to get your device repaired or replaced.
