Issue Details

An SLSC-12001 consistently disconnects from the host PC whenever a command is sent, this issue is observed regardless of the slot or module used to test the functionality of the chassis. The chassis must be restarted to restore communication with the host PC, once a command is issued again the initial behavior manifests. The chassis resides on the same subnet as the host PC.

Solution

To solve the problem you can add the chassis manually to NI-MAX using these steps:

  1. In the configuration tree, right-click Network Devices and select Create New NI-SLSC Chassis to display the Create New dialog box.
  2. Select the SLSC chassis from the drop-down list or enter the name or IP address of the SLSC chassis.
  3. Click Finish to add the SLSC chassis.
Contact Support if the problem persists after manually adding the chassis to your system configuration in NI-MAX.

Additional Information

If you manually add an SLSC chassis, NI-MAX adds the chassis to the local configuration file of the host machine and attaches a folder sign   to the chassis icon in the configuration tree. NI-MAX displays the SLSC chassis even if the chassis is no longer connected to the network. The Status field in the configuration view indicates the connection status of the SLSC chassis.
