nismbioscached Service of NI PXI Platform Services Exits With status=218/CAPABILITIES

Issue Details

When I try to attempt to start the nismbioscached service on my system, the service exits with status=218/CAPABILITIES.

Solution

This issue can happen, when your system is an EFI-only system, so a system which does not support the legacy BIOS mode.

To solve the issue, update the NI PXI Platform Services to version 21.5 or newer, as the sub-component nismbiostd  started to support EFI-only system in version 21.5
