cRIO-90xx Keeps Rebooting Giving Error EXT4-fs (sda4): error loading journal

Issue Details

I've experienced some issues with my cRIO-90xx. The device reboots approximately every 60 seconds and checking on PuTTY it is possible to see:

JBD2: Failed to read block at offset 28392
EXT4-fs (sda4): error loading journal
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8, 4)

What does mean and how can I fix the issue?

Solution

The error "EXT4-fs (sda4): error loading journal" denotes that the system is not able to load the ext4 journal, meaning that there is highly likely a faulty connection or hard drive corruption.

There are two potential solutions for this issue:
