Issue Details

When I open LabWindows CVI and I try to add a new element to the user interface, I keep getting the same error message that displays "The attribute value passed is not valid". How can I bypass this error and behavior?

Solution

The issue is linked to corruption in the registry property values for LabWindows CVI. The simple solution would be to perform a clean reinstallation of LabWindows CVI.
A more advanced solution will consist of modifying the following registry properties using RegEdit. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\National Instruments\CVI\8.5\WidnowsPositions and change the ProjectWindowSplitter1 value to something smaller.
If the issue is still not solved, try renaming the entire HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\National Instruments\CVI\8.5 folder.
