Issue Details

How can I use NI-9361 with NI VeriStand?

Solution

This is not recommended because VeriStand uses hardware-timed single point (HWTSP) sampling mode. For cRIOs with DAQmx, such as cRIO 904x and cRIO 905x, pulse measurement is not supported, as per stated in NI Hardware Support for VeriStand. NI-9361 is a counter input module and does not support pulse generation.

It is possible to do pulse measurement with NI-9361 using FPGA mode. However, FPGA Addon Custom Device allows you to do pulse measurement and generation using Speciality IO with C Series Digital I/O modules at a lower cost. Please refer to Getting Started With NI FPGA Devices in NI VeriStand.

Additional Information

The above restriction is not applicable if you are using NI-9361 in cDAQ or cRIO with LabVIEW using DAQmx.
