Issue Details

I have SystemLink installed and have also installed the plugin for HDF5 files, HDF Group DataPlugin for HDF5.
The install completed succsesfully but after refreshing SystemLink, the plugin is not in the DataPlugins list.

If I try to manually add the DataPlugin into SystemLink (Data Administration -> DataPlugins -> Add -> Browse -> C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\USI\DataPlugins\HDF5) SystemLink shows a green window and says the plugin has been added successfully, but the plugin is not in the list still.

Solution

The HDF5 DataPlugin is not expected to show in the DataPlugin list.
The HDF5 DataPlugin allows you to read an HDF5 data file, but it does not convert the data into the TDM/TDMS data format required for DataFinder indexing or loading into DIAdem or LabVIEW, etc.
This type of DataPlugin is called a "Data Store" DataPlugin.

A second DataPlugin that takes the data read by the HDF5 DataPlugin and makes a particular mapping onto the TDM Data Model is required.
This type of DataPlugin is called a "Post-processing" DataPlugin and will show up in SystemLinks DataPlugins list as it can be selected as a DataPlugin for a DataFinder or for loading into DIAdem or LabVIEW, etc.
