Issue Details

  • Which high-speed serial protocols are compatible with NI PXIe-6593 and NI PXIe-6594 modules?
  • Does NI provide the reference examples for various high-speed serial protocols with NI PXIe-6593 and NI PXIe-6594? Is there any example available for frame mode?

Solution

The following are the supported protocols on NI PXIe-6593 and NI PXIe-6594.
  • Xilinx Aurora 64b66b
  • Xilinx Aurora 8b10b
  • Gigabit Ethernet (GbE)
  • JESD204B/C
  • FibreChannel/ARINC-818
  • Serial Rapid IO
  • SFPDP

However, NI provides shipping sample projects for Aroura 64b66b only in NI Example Finder :
  • Aurora 64b66b streaming, 2 x4 duplex cores at 16.25 Gb/s (NI PXIe-6593)
  • Aurora 64b66b streaming, 2 x4 duplex cores at 28 Gb/s (NI PXIe-6594)
Please note that the above shipping examples use streaming mode. There is no reference example for frame mode.

Additional Information

Users can develop their own socketed CLIPs using Xilinx tools and implement these protocols for NI high speed serial modules.
