Issue Details

I use a NI-9213 Thermocouple module inserted into a CompactDAQ chassis. I want to acquire data from a Type C thermocouple.
For testing, I use the NI MAX's Test Panels.

In the "Thermocouple Type" section I can't find Type C. What is the reason?

Solution

The NI C Series Thermocouple modules are not compatible with all types of thermocouples. These modules support thermocouples working within the temperature ranges defined by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) i.e. J, K, N, R, S, T, B, E type thermocouples.
The Type C thermocouples and other types of tungsten/rhenium-alloy thermocouples are suited for measuring extremely high temperatures which are above the standardized limits.

Additional Information

There is a way of using an unsupported thermocouple with C-Series module in a CompactRIO.
