Installing Ethernet/IP 21.0 on NI Linux Real-Time Controllers with LabVIEW 2020 or 2019

Issue Details

I have downloaded NI-Industrial Communications for Ethernet/IP 21.0 and I want to install this onto my NI Linux Real-Time controller. I am using NI Linux RT System Image 21.0 or later which says it is compatbile with LabVIEW 2020 or 2019, but I am unable to find NI-Industrial Communications for Ethernet/IP in the software install list. I have checked the readme and these versions of LabVIEW are compatible with NI-Industrial Communications for Ethernet/IP 21.0.

How do I install the driver onto my Real-Time target?

Solution

The Linux RT System Image 21.0 only supports the installation of NI-Industrial Communications for Ethernet/IP if you are using the programming environment for LabVIEW 2021.
Upgrade to LabVIEW 2021 to use NI-Industrial Communications for Ethernet/IP 21.0.

Additional Information

This is a purposeful decision as not all dependent drivers for NI-Industrial Communications for Ethernet/IP 21.0 with Linux RT System Image 21.0 are available in the 2019 and 2020 environment.
