What is the total power consumption and maximum number of simultaneous switching for two or more SWB-2834 on PXI-2800?

Solution

For Switchblock carrier with two or more SWB-2834, the total power consumption will be below 25 W. This total power consumption is both 3.3 V and 5 V usage combined.  So 5 W + 20 W = 25 W as a maximum for the whole carrier (with 6x SWB-2810 with 176 relays closed). The 20 W at 5 V is used for the relay operation, and 5 W at 3.3 V is used for other ICs. Latching relays on SWB-2834 do not constantly use power.

For SWB-2834 there is no limit on simultaneous relays closed because it uses latching relays. A channel is essentially an In + Out path, and this can be a column-row-column path.  That would make 2 cross points per channel, making 16 cross points for 8 channels in a single SWB-2834.
