Libnipalu.so Failed to Initialize Is Repeatedly Displayed on NI Linux Real-Time Target's Console

Issue Details

  • My NI Linux Real-Time target does not seem to be booting properly and is unresponsive. When I check the console using a monitor, the following message is displayed repeatedly.
  
libnipalu.so failed to initialize
Verify that nipalk.ko is built and loaded.
Startup application prevented from running at startup.

Solution

This error can occur when a new installation of software has not completed correctly.
  1. Uninstall the recently changed software, if applicable.
  2. Retry installation of the desired software packages.
  3. If the above fails, reimaging the Linux Real-Time OS will clear the errors with the previous installation or correct if installed software has become corrupted.
