Issue Details

I have a PXI-2529. Can I connect the row of one Bank to the column of another Bank. For example, switch B1R2 to B0C0?

Solution

In 2-wire 4×32 matrix topology, the banks are connected to each other, as can be seen in the picture below.

Therefore, you can switch arbitrary row to arbitrary column, even if they are in different banks. Below you can see how the B1R2 to B0C0 connection looks in the simulated device.

Additional Information

To make sure that the desired connection is possible, you can simulate it in NI MAX.
  1. Go to NI MAX and right click on Devices and Interfaces.
  2. Click on Create New.
  3. Choose Simulated Device, as shown below, and click Finish
  4. From Switches choose NI PXI-2529.
  5. Now you can see the PXI-2529 in the Devices and Interfaces tree. Click on it and choose Configuration.3.png
  6. In the configuration window choose TB-2636 as your Terminal Block/Accessory.
  7. Close the window and click on Test Panels.

On the schematic you can try out various connection. Note that the columns and rows of different Banks are not separated and are in one schematic. The reason is, the banks are connected, as was mentioned above. So, from c0 to c15 is the Bank 0, and from c15 to c31 is Bank 1.
