Importing Structural Test Channel Information from MS Excel into FlexLogger

  • FlexLogger for Static Test
  • Static Test Software Suite

Users with high channel count systems, such as a structural test, may want to specify the test system in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet instead of directly in FlexLogger. Using an Excel spreadsheet allows a customer to leverage the built-in mass edit capabilities of Excel as well as provide a more common format for sharing with other interested parties without the need for the FlexLogger application.

The Excel spreadsheet must ultimately be converted into a FlexLogger project for test execution. The FlexLogger Spreadsheet Importer command-line executable can be used to create a FlexLogger project from an Excel spreadsheet.

  1. The FlexLogger Spreadsheet Importer tool is installed from the Static Test Software Suite (minimum version 1.2) as part of the FlexLogger for Static Test application.
  2. To define your FlexLogger project in an Excel spreadsheet, refer to Creating a FlexLogger Project from an Excel Spreadsheet  for detailed instructions. The instructions in the document will walk you through the process of creating an Excel spreadsheet, including measurement parameters and channel mapping, as well as importing the spreadsheet into a FlexLogger project

A template and valid sample Excel file are attached here for reference.
