Issue Details

I am trying to connect to NI Ethernet cDAQ Chassis such as cDAQ-9181 from NI MAX and I am getting the following error. I have verified that my software setup fulfills requirement mentioned in Software Support for CompactRIO, CompactDAQ, Single-Board RIO, R Series, and EtherCAT. How can I connect to it successfully?

Solution

  1. Install DAQmx 17.6 or newer that is compatible with your development environment. This is the first version of the driver to support the majority of FieldDAQ devices. For further compatibility information, see the Readme for the version of DAQmx you plan on installing to verify Hardware, OS, and Development Environment compatibility.
  2. Ensure you are adding the NI network DAQ device under My System >> Devices and Interfaces >> Network Devices. You can see this error message if you add the NI network DAQ device under Remote Systems which is intended for Real-Time systems like CompactRIO, Real-Time PXI, or Industrial Controllers.
