Cannot Drag or Move Code Snippet into LabVIEW

Issue Details

  • I could not drag any pictures nor code snippets into LabVIEW VI. How can I solve this issue?
  • When I drag the pictures or code snippets into the LabVIEW VI, nothing is happened. The pictures or code snippets do not load or show in the VI as expected.

Solution

Right click on your LabVIEW icon/program and select Properties >> Compatibility tab. Ensure that “Run this program as administrator” selection is not check.

Additional Information

This behavior is normally due to the Window’s administrator permission. When your LabVIEW is run as administrator, your LabVIEW is running as an elevated program. Any lower prioritize program such as Windows desktop are not allowed to send or drop message to the elevated program. Therefore, when you want to drag the pictures or code snippets into LabVIEW running as administrator, it is not allowed.

If “Run this program administrator” selection is checked and greyed out, please reach out to your IT department or Microsoft Support team.
