nihsdrk: The Dependency Service or Group Failed to Start

Issue Details

I am using my system without using the NI-Scope driver when I receive a Windows message that nihsdrk service failed to start: 
"nihsdrk service depends on the nigplk service which is failed to start because of the following error: The dependency Service or group failed to start"
This may result in a Blue Screen of Death. What do I do?

Solution

The nihsdrk service is related to NI-Scope. This error can appear when you are not using the NI-Scope driver for any connected hardware or active IVI sessions if an IVI session did not close properly and retains an open reference to the NI-Scope driver.
Close any IVI sessions that are using the NI-Scope driver and stop the service.
