Issue Details

I am using NI PCIe-7852R in a LabVIEW FPGA project. If I am trying to compile it using Online Compile Cloud Server, after some time it shows The compilation completed successfully, but the development system becomes frozen and requires a restart. After restarting another compilation is needed and the same issue occurs.

What can I do to troubleshoot this issue?

Solution

Here are the troubleshooting steps for this issue:
  • Try other compile options, if they are available to you (eg. Local compile and Network compile server).
  • Make sure that any FPGA code causes the issue by trying LabVIEW FPGA examples for this hardware. See the link: How to Find LabVIEW Examples for NI Hardware.
  • If there is only one VI causing the issue, take a look at the FPGA memory consumption and look for ways to optimize the code. See the link: LabVIEW FPGA Code Optimization.
  • Try to compile an FPGA code on different modules on your chassis (if there are any).
  • If using other modules results in the same issue, consider trying an external DC power supply which has enough power to supply your system.
  • If all the above steps did not solve the issue, please contact NI Technical Support for further steps.
