CPU LED on MP500 is Red

Issue Details

I turned on my MP500 device and the LED labeled "CPU" is red. Normally this LED is green once the unit is powered on. I also can't seem detect the instrument over USB or TCP/IP in MPManager.

What do I do?

Solution

The firmware may be in corrupted or damaged. First try rebooting the unit in recovery mode. Here are the steps to do this:
  1. Power off the MP500 unit
  2. Turn on the unit by holding in the power button until the LED on it begins blinking
  3. Release the power button and observe the LED continues to blink
At this stage, the MP500 motherboard should show up on the Connection screen of MPManager. If it does not, the unit is damaged and will need to be repaired.
