NI VLM Is Sending Emails on Non-Existing Pending Permission Requests

Issue Details

I receive an email every day reminding me of pending permission requests even though I don't have any.

The email says:
NI VLM has 'x' permission requests pending. You must accept permission requests before clients can use their requested licenses. To accept or reject a permission request, select the Permission Requests view in NI VLM, select the permission request, and click the appropriate button.

What can I do?

Solution

Before making this process, ensure you don't have any pending permission request. Then you can follow the next steps:

1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Volume License Manager
2. Double click on VLMDataFiles shortcut


3. Go to Permission Queue folder and create a new folder inside called Backup
4. Move all the files in Permission Queue folder to the new folder Backup.

The problem must be solved.
