Error -33 or -40 When Building Installer in LabVIEW

Issue Details

I receive error -33 or error -40 when I try to build an installer in LabVIEW.

 

The following errors and warnings were noted during the build:

Error:

Internal error.

Code:

-40

Error:

Error in an internal component of the installer builder.

Details:

An invalid target path, "", was specified for the file "<filename>.xml" in "C:\Users\<...>".

Further details:

Error adding file C:\Users\<...>\<filename>.xml

Code:

-33

 

What can I do to resolve this error?

Solution

If you are facing this error from an old installer, try re-creating the installer:

  1. Right-click Build Specifications in the project explorer.
  2. Choose New >> Installer.
  3. Re-enter all the properties as it was in the previous installer.

If the above does not work, Mass Compile your project.
