Issue Details

  • I am having trouble synchronizing my USB DSA device with another USB DSA or Multifunction DAQ device. How can I do this?
  • I am recieving Error -200077 occurred at Property Node... when trying to import a sample clock to my USB DSA device.
Possible Reason(s): Requested value is not a supported value for this property. The property value may be invalid because it conflicts with another property.

USB Dynamic Signal Acquisition (DSA) devices (USB-4431/2) can only accept a start or reference trigger. They cannot export triggers and they cannot import or export a timebase or sample clock due to the strict requirements for frequency and stability on DSA devices.

The only synchronization option for these devices is to have an external source send both devices a trigger, but this will offer no control regarding drifting between the two over time. If you are attempting to sync with a non-DSA DAQ device, you will also have to compensate for the filter delay on the DSA DAQ device.
