Solution
The NI 9151 R Series expansion chassis for C Series I/O imposes speed limits on some modules. In addition, the NI 9151 does not support sharing a timebase between modules with delta-sigma ADCs.
Modules that require high SPI CLK frequencies are not suitable for use with the NI 9151. Modules that require High Speed Interface (DDR clock and maximum SPI throughput) are not supported. These constraints are due to propagation delays and signal integrity from the cable connecting to the NI 9151.
Below is a list of modules that are
speed-limited by the NI 9151 R Series expansion chassis or that
cannot share the timebase.
C Series Module Type | Model Numbers |

Analog Output Modules | NI 9263, NI 9264, NI 9265 |
Digital Modules | NI 9403, NI 9425 |
Delta Sigma type ADC Modules | NI 9218, NI 9225, NI 9227, NI 9229, NI 9230, NI 9232 , NI 9234, NI 9235, NI 9236, NI 9237, NI 9238, NI 9239, NI 9242, NI 9244, NI 9246, NI 9247, NI 9251 |
Delta-Sigma DAC Module | NI 9260 |
CAN Modules | NI 9852, NI 9853 |
Note: The following modules are
not supported on the NI 9151 expansion chassis.
