Issue Details

As an industry user of NI Linux Real-Time I am entitled to find the most up-to-date FOSS EULAs for the OS version I use. Where can I find these?

Solution

For all NI Linux Real-Time devices, including Linux-based cRIOs, sbRIOs, PXI Controllers, Industrial Controllers and Smart Cameras, you will find the FOSS EULAs directly on your device. The path to the EULAs is:

/usr/share/common-licenses.tar.bz2

Additional Information

FOSS EULAs are compressed in a .tar.bz2 file. On a Windows OS, you can unpack them with appropriate unpacking software, for example the open source software 7-zip (https://www.7-zip.org/).
FOSS EULAs are directly dependent on the Linux kernel version, which is updated with each new version of NI Linux Real-Time (and other NI Real-Time Modules). So taking the FOSS EULAs directly from your target device (cRIO, Industrial Controller, PXI, Smart Camera) will ensure you have the correct version. Do not use FOSS EULAs you took from older firmware versions.
