Acronis True Image Only Restores Once

Issue Details

I have a windows 10 PXIe controller that has Acronis TrueImage pre-loaded on it. I used the recovery tool to restore my machine to a factory state, however when I try to do it again, Acronis is not able to find the Recovery Image.

Why is this happening?

In newer versions of Acronis OEM (such as the ones that come pre-loaded on our PXIe devices) the restore functionality clears the recovery partition where the factory restore lies. This means that the factory re-image will only work once using the Acronis software on PXIe controllers.

After recovering once, you have to use the Acronis application in Windows to create a recovery media (typically USB) for future recoveries. There is no way to get back to the true factory state with an extra Acronis partition from NI.

Additional Information

If you want a true persistent recovery option for the factory state of your PXIe chassis, you will either need to pay for the full version of Acronis (and create your own recovery partition) or use another 3rd party re-image/recovery tool.
