Issue Details

  • I want to calculate an FFT but I get an error saying "You have not selected an operation".
  • After recording an FFT script, I get an error at run-time about having "not selected an operation".
  • How do I fix the error "You have not selected an operation" in DIAdem?

Solution

This DIAdem error occurs after trying to run an FFT calculation when the "FFTAmpl" parameter is set to "False" or "0" (depending on which version of DIAdem is being used).

To correct this issue:

1. Navigate to the line in the script that defines the "FFTAmpl" parameter. This should be set to either "False" or "0" as shown.

2. Modify this line to set the value as "True" or "1", depending on the syntax of your script. This is shown in the following image.

Once this has been modified, the script should run without errors. If the issue persist after making this change, contact National Instruments.

Additional Information

After recording an FFT (One Time Signal), the "FFTAmpl" should be set to "True" by default. However, in DIAdem 18.0.1, this is not the case.
This is a known issue with the software and it is recommended that a newer version of DIAdem is used in order to avoid this error.
