Issue Details

I have no thermocouple connected to the USB-TC01. In the InstantDAQ software I am reading a reasonable value. However, when creating a task in MAX I am reading anywhere 1,000 to 3000 degrees.

Solution

The InstantDAQ software will recognize that no thermocouple is connected and will report the temperature of the built-in CJC. In MAX a thermocouple is needed to get accurate measurements. Additionally, it is recommended to use a thermocouple as the CJC is often hotter that the ambient temperature.
