Issue Details

I'm planning to move my InsightCM CMS to a new physical location. What do I need to do to make sure it will still work properly?

Solution

The first thing you'll need to do at the new location is make sure the IT infrastructure is set up for InsightCM communication. Make sure the necessary TCP and UDP ports are open at the new location.

When the CMS is at the new location on the new server, you will need to go through the "Add Device" process again because it will initially try to communicate with the old server. To get the assets re-added once the device is connected to the new InsightCM server, you can either export the Asset Configuration from the old server and import it on the new one, or you can reconfigure your assets.

Additional Information

If the CMS does lose power, it will reinitiate communication as soon as the power is back on.
