First, make sure that you have a compatible version of the NI-VXI driver installed in your machine. Click
here to be routed to the NI-VXI download website.
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot a VXI System.
1. Open the Windows Device Manager. Check if the PCI-MXI Card shows up under
Other Devices as
Other PCI Bridge Device. If this is a new PC, it could mean that there are no devices associated with this card. Run the installation of the drivers for the VXI system and restart the computer.
2. Open NI-MAX after installing the drivers. The PCI-MXI card should appear under
Devices and Interfaces as a VXI System X. You can also check the Windows Device Manager to verify if the computer is associating the driver correctly.
3. Run the VXI Resource Manager (RESMAN). Open NI-MAX and select the VXI System under Devices and Interfaces. While running RESMAN, the status window will come up and let you know the status of the system while trying to communicate to VXI System.
5. Once RESMAN has run successfully, you will see a message in the Status windows that says Resource Manager completed successfully and the yellow exclamation mark will disappear from the system under Devices and Interfaces. You are now able to see all of the VXI cards in your system.
