Issue Details

I have purchased new computer which has latest PCIe 5.0 bus slot. When I slot in NI PCIe device into the PCIe 5.0 slot, NI MAX cannot detect the device. Does NI PCIe device is compatible to PCIe 5.0? How to fix this issue?

Solution

The PCIe 5.0 bus slot is backward compatible, so it should be able to be used with an NI PCIe device.
You can try the troubleshooting steps below to ensure that the PCIe device works in PCIe 5.0:
  • Make sure your computer BIOS is up-to-date. You may refer to the computer manufacturer website to check the latest firmware version and guidance on how to update BIOS system.
  • Reinstall NI-DAQmx device. Make sure that the NI-DAQmx version is compatible with the device. You may check the compatibility via NI Hardware and Software Operating System Compatibility.
  • Perform BIOS reset. Please check from your computer manufacturer website for the procedure to reset BIOS to default.
  • Try to slot the PCIe device to another PCIe slot or another computer to determine whether the device is functioning.
