Issue Details

I am trying to use the Modbus VIs in LabVIEW to create an application that will run on my Windows PC. I have the LabVIEW Real-Time Module installed and licensed. According to the Modbus VIs documentation, these functions become available after installing the LabVIEW Real-Time Module, however, every time I try to use them on my PC they do not appear in the Functions Palette. I can only utilize them if I create a VI for a Real-Time target such as a compactRIO.

Solution

The reason why the issue could be occurring is because:
  • You must activate the LabVIEW Real-Time Module to use the Modbus VIs on a real-time target.
  • You must activate the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control Module to use the Modbus VIs on Windows and Windows Embedded Standard targets
