Software Setup for Seagate Lyve Mobile Array

Issue Details

I have a Seagate Lyve Mobile Array that I will be using with my PC (or Windows-based PXIe). I would like to know where I can find the software needed to set up this device.

Solution

The Seagate Lyve Mobile Array uses the Seagate Lyve Client software package. To download it, follow the steps depicted below:
  1. Visit Seagate Lyve Client Product Support Page
  2. Navigate to the Downloads Section.


 

  1. Download and execute Lyve_Client.exe for Windows or LyveClient.dmg for MacOS to finish the installation.



 
 
 
 

Additional Information

To use the Seagate Lyve Mobile Array CLI in Standalone Mode:

  1. Run the Lyve Client application, but don't sign in or perform any configuration yet.

 
  1. Navigate to the Lyve Client folder located at [BootVolume]\Users\[UserAccountName]\AppData\Roaming.
  2. Open preferences.json in a text editor.
  3. Change the “lyveEnv”: “prod” line to "lyveEnv": "standalone", as shown in the image below.


 
  1. Restart Lyve Client (ensure it is not running hidden in the taskbar). You will observe that the Sign In button and banner are no longer present.
