Issue Details

I'm trying to connect a thunderbolt device to my PXIe controller, however, I can't access the device. I don't see the Thunderbolt Control Center pop-up when I connect the device to the controller.

Solution

There are different reasons why this error may be occurring, in general, follow the instructions below to make sure that your controller has all the necessary software/drivers to access your Thunderbolt device properly.
  • Update to the latest version of the BIOS of your PXIe controller.
  • Reboot your controller and boot into the BIOS by clicking the <DEL> key.
    • Go to the Advance tab and access the Thunderbolt Configuration.
    • Make sure that Thunderbolt Support is enabled.
    • Make sure that Thunderbolt Security Level is configured to User Authorization.
    • Save that changes and boot into Windows.
  • If you are still not having access to your device, make sure that you have access to the Thunderbolt Control Center, if not, please reinstall the application.
  • Once you have access to the Thunderbolt Control Center, make sure to approve your device and configure it to "Always Connect".
  • If the issue persists, contact NI Support.
