Issue Details

  • I am trying to build a LabVIEW installer, but the Build Specifications complains that "some installers you selected for this build are not available on this computer". It lists NI System Components as the missing installer. Where can I find this installer?
  • When configuring the Build Specifications for my LabVIEW installer, a Select Source dialog box appears stating that NI System Components is missing. How can I resolve this?

Solution

NI System Components is installed with Run-Time Engines and some NI drivers. It relates to the NI System Configuration package.
If the Select Source dialog reports that NI System Components cannot be located on your PC, follow the steps below to resolve this:
  1. Ensure that the original download source for the included installers is accessible on your PC.
  2. If any software included in the Build Specifications was originally installed from another LabVIEW-built installer, repair LabVIEW using Package Manager.
  3. Repair any Runtime versions listed in the Additional Installers page of your Build Specifications.
  4. Verify whether the installer can be built on another PC.
    • It's possible that the problematic PC has artefacts remaining in the Windows Registry that relate to a previously built installer.
Note: it may be necessary to completely reinstall all NI software if the conflicting artefacts are still present after repairing LabVIEW and Runtime versions.
