Issue Details

Where can I find the name of the cRIO controller chassis' Built-In USB Serial Port?

Solution

To find the VISA resource name for your cRIO's built-in USB ports and to be able to use them follow the below-mentioned steps.
  • Open NI MAX
  • Under the Remote Systems select our cRIO device and open the drop-down menu

If there is a need you can access these ports directly from NI MAX with the use of the Open VISA Test Panel button.

There you can run simple tests to check the communication status.
If you need to use the Built-In USB port in LabVIEW, create a new project, add the cRIO device and you will be able to use these ports in LabVIEW as well.

Additional Information

NOTE: Be sure to have the same version of NI-VISA Driver both on the PC and the cRIO device.
