How to Export SystemLink Tag History Values Through Studio 3T

This article will describe how to export the Tag history values from SystemLink server throuth 3rd-party tools.
SystemLink is an intelligent Systems and Data Management application software. Tag service is one of the data communication methods to help you transfer the latest values among SystemLink Server and Clients. All tags can be viewed in the SystemLink Tag Viewer Web Application.
Studio 3T from 3T Software Labs is a professional GUI for MongoDB and which is the database SystemLink used for storing Tag history.

  • As SystemLink is an application software which NI continuous invest, this article will be updated when there are changes in the following new versions. SystemLink 2022 Q1 is the latest version when this article published.
  • The Studio is 30 days free tools, and please remember to purchase the certificate in time.

1. Prerequisite knowledge 2. Install Studio 3T
  • Download Studio 3T and install it on the machine running the SystemLink Server
3. Open the TagHistorian.json file on SystemLink server machine
  • The “TagHistorian.json” locate in “C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\Skyline\Config\TagHistorian.json”.
  • This JSON file contains the Hostname and Password to connect MongoDB
4. Connect to MongoDB through Studio 3T and export Tag history

5. Find the tag history data in CSV
  • The “nitaghistorian metadata” file saves the id number of the tag path.
