Issue Details

When I start FlexLogger, I see the following error:
thumbnail_image001.png
Engine Timeout
It is taking longer than expected to connect to the engine.
Ensure port 57076 is not in use.
Would you like to keep waiting for the engine to connect?

The port in question is not in use, and FlexLogger does not launch if I select "Yes" to wait for connection. How do I resolve this error?

Solution

FlexLogger comprises of several subprocesses that must all be allowed through any security processes to launch in full. Ensure that the following processes are all allowed through firewall and antivirus setting:

  • FlexLogger.exe
  • NationalInstruments.IO.DataPef.Engine.exe
  • Erl.exe

Also, ensure that the firewall access prompt was approved during the FlexLogger installation.

If you didn't allow the firewall access, add application exception to Windows Firewall manually or restore default firewall setting.
