How to Change My Username on NI License Manager?

Environment

Software

  • Volume License Manager
  • License Manager

I am using a client computer under a Volume License. I wish to change the username appearing on my NI License Manager(NILM) due to:
  • There are other computer within the same network that has the same username as mine on NILM. This causes confusion on the admin computer's Volume License Manager.
  • The admin is not able to track the exact computer that is accessing the Volume License properly.

The username on NILM follows your Windows Username. Go through the below steps to change your Windows username:

1. Go to Start >> Control Panel and select User Accounts.

2. Click on Manage User Account to modify user account information.

3. From the User’s List, double click on the user account currently used on the computer or select the user account and then click on Properties.

4. You will be able to edit your username on the Properties tab. Click Apply to apply the changes.

5. Log out from the Windows account and re-login to observe the new username change being reflected on NILM Username.
