Delay Observed With Single Point Generation Using PXIe-4467

Issue Details

I have a PXIe-4467 Dynamic Signal Acquisition (DSA) module and I'm using it for single-point DC voltage generation. I observe that the latency involved in the generation of the voltage is in the order of 12-13 ms. However, this is much lesser for a PXI X-series module such as PXIe-6363. What is the reason for the delay and how can I eliminate the same? Can the filter be disabled in software ?

Solution

PXIe-4467 is designed for high frequency/spectral performance and thus has some filters in the signal path. Because of these filters, the latency for single-point DC voltage generation is high. These filters cannot be disabled in software.

Additional Information

PXIe-4467 is not a suitable product for fast-paced single-point DC voltage generation. Contact NI for suggestions on a suitable product for such an application.
