Is There Any Way To Trigger The PXIe-6570/ 6571 PPMU Pin?

Issue Details

We need to measure the voltage on a DUT pin using the PXIe-6570/6571 PPMU pin. Measurement should happen after the NI SMU provided a source complete event as the trigger source for the PXIe-6570/ 6571.

After looking at the niDigital Configure Trigger VI , it seems not to be associated to niDigital PPMU Source VI or niDigital PPMU Measure VI and only the niDigital Configure Trigger VI,VniDigital Burst Pattern VI and niDigital Initiate VI is associated with the triggers for PXIe-6570/6571.

Is there any used case we can provide to control PPMU based from triggers, hardware or software means?

Solution

If you need to enable niDigital Configure Trigger VI, you could build a pattern which only has comparison vector in the pattern.

After you get source complete event from PXIe-4163, you start to burst this pattern by trigger source.

Then you can use niDigital PPMU Measure VI to measue the voltage or current on the comparison pin even if the pin function is not set to PPMU.
