Issue Details

Is it possible to use the USB 3.1 Alt DisplayPort on the NI sbRIO-9629 to connect to a USB-C based display adapter available in the market? I am specifically planning to use a “USB-C to Dual HDMI Adapter” to drive two different display images.

Solution

NI has only tested these display adapters with NI sbRIO-9629, NI sbRIO-9628, and NI sbRIO-9609. For any other adapters, NI cannot provide a surety if it will work. We recommend testing any such adapters.

Additional Information

  • As also given in the block diagram, the NI sbRIO-9629 uses the Intel HD Graphics from the Intel Atom E3845 processor. So any adapter compatible with Linux and Intel HD Graphics is likely to work. However, testing is highly recommended.
  • Please note that multiple display use cases (multi-stream transport) may require specific drivers that NI LinuxRT might not have by default.
