Issue Details

Can the USB 3.1 Alt DisplayPort on the NI sbRIO (i.e sbRIO-9629) be used to connect to a USB-C-based display adapter available in the market? I am specifically planning to use a “USB-C to Dual HDMI Adapter” to display two different images on separate screens.

Solution

NI has only tested the display adapters listed below with sbRIO-9609, sbRIO-9628, and sbRIO-9629. For any other adapters, NI cannot warrant that they will work, and testing will be required.

Additional Information

  • As also given in the block diagram, the NI sbRIO-9609/28/29 uses the Intel HD Graphics from the Intel Atom E3845/E3825 processor. So any adapter compatible with Linux and Intel HD Graphics is likely to work. However, testing is highly recommended.
  • Please note that multiple display use cases (multi-stream transport) may require specific drivers that NI Linux Real-Time system might not have by default.
