Configuration Settings Not Updated Properly When Using the Same Step in Multiple States in Vision Builder for Automated Inspection

Issue Details

I am using Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (VBAI) and I have a sequence that contains two states: Inspect and State 1. In both states, I am using Acquire Image steps with the same step name ("Acquire Image (1394, GigE, or USB) 1"). In both Acquire Image steps, we have different configurations.

When I run the steps in Inspect everything works fine, but when it moves to the next step State 1 the Acquire Image uses the configuration of the Inspect state. How can I fix this?

Solution

When using VBAI sequences, it is easy to use the same step type in different states in the sequence, but if you use the same Step Name for all of them you will see the behavior.

To fix this behavior, it is necessary to have a different step name for all the same step types the sequence is using.
  • Double-click the step and change the name in the configuration window as shown below:
