NI 987X Is Not Detected in 2022 Q4 or 2023 Q1 Base System Image

Issue Details

I installed the 2023 Q1 or 2022 Q4 Base System Image to an RT target but NI 987x is not seen or detected in my NI MAX. When I installed the 2022 Q3 Base System Image, it could be detected and working normally. Why is this issue happening?

Solution

This issue is expected as the NI-Serial 9870 and 9871 Scan Engine Support version 21.5 is not up to date to the 2022 Q4 and 2023 Q1 Base System Image. This creates a compatibility issue with the driver and the Base System Image.

To resolve it, you can either downgrade to the 2022 Q3 Base System Image or update the driver to the 2023 Q2 version or the latest version of the Base System Image.
