“Untrusted Publisher” Windows Security Dialog Box Appears When Installing DAQmx Driver on Windows 7

Issue Details

After starting the DAQmx 20.1 installation, the "Untrusted publisher" Windows Security dialog box appears.

I tried to click continue to install, but after few second the pop up re-appeared. This is both with and without the “Always trust software from…” option selected.
When I click cancel/stop the installation, the driver failed to installed.
How to successfully install the DAQmx driver on Windows 7? 

Solution

There was a Windows hotfix related to the "Untrusted publisher" dialog. However, the hotfix is no longer available from Microsoft.
To solve the issue, you can try following steps:

  1. Disable the network firewall during the installation.
  2. Continue to click "Install" until it stops pop up.
