Issue Details

I want to use OPEN Alliance TC10 features on 1000BASE-T1. But the product documentation shows that the port of PXIe-8523 must be configured for a link speed of 100 Mbps and a port mode of Direct to use the sleep/wake capability. Does it mean that the PXIe-8523 only supports 100BASE-T1?

Solution

The sleep/wake capability based on OPEN Alliance TC10 Sleep/Wake 2.0 specification was added in NI-XNET 21.0. At the time of implementation, the TC10 specification (version 2017) was only intended for 100BASE-T1. So, PXIe-8523 only supports TC10 on 100BASE-T1.

Additional Information

The PXIe-8523 has the BCM89881 PHY, and it doesn't support the latest TC10 specification. Supporting TC10 on 1000BASE-T1 would require new hardware.
